Physical offerings refer to our events around the country where people are meeting together in the same space at the same time. We refer to these as conferences, workshops, and Thrives.

The National Conference is our flagship event at Asilomar every June. The Asilomar Bible and Spiritual Life Conference begins at 5:00 pm on a Thursday and concludes with lunch on Sunday. There are pre-conference options Thursday afternoon and others beginning on Wednesday who would like to take a more concentrated workshop on a topic offered by a speaker. In 2015 this conference will run June 25-28.

Regional Conferences are the same length and design as the National Conference, though generally without the pre-conference offerings. The recurring regional conference has been in the Midwest at the Cedars Camps outside St. Louis. In 2015 the Midwest Bible and Spiritual Life Confernce will focus on leadership skills from the Bible and spiritual life perspectives that support them. The dates will be September 17-20, 2015. After that event it is possible other Midwest venues make be looked at for conferences.

Regional Workshops are one-day events, traditionally beginning on Friday evening and ending by 4:00 or 4:30 pm on Saturday. with one or two speakers. They are sponsored by and often held at local churches. We have been hosted in Austin, Towson (Baltimore), Mercer Island (Seattle), Tampa, Houston and Laguna Niguel in Orange County, CA.  We are experimenting with the idea of skyping nationwide some of these future workshops.

Thrive Events are outreach activities to youth and those not so familiar with either the Bible or spiritually-infused progressive or emergence Christianity.

  • We recently held three one-day Thrives addressing young adults in Orange County, Seattle, and Dallas.
  • Thrive programs also build bridges between pioneering thinkers and doers. We are preparing an outreach to audiences in Los Angeles in late 2015.
